One eyed Bird asked to lead motorcycle safety media campaign across military


Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Seattle, Washington - (Sept 15, 2010) –One Eyed Bird has been asked to use its unique audience influence to produce a media campaign that reduces motorcycle mishaps and fatalities across US military going into 2011.

- One Eyed Bird is thrilled to announce it won and started work on an amazing opportunity to use its Action Sports audience expertise to once again influence the Motorcycle and FMX audience in a positive way. This summer they were selected as the key partner of Concurrent Technologies Corporation to develop the 2010 Private Motor Vehicle (PMV) Outreach Media Campaign. This will involve strategic marketing planning, several high-end television Public Service Announcements, print media as well as the distribution, online and social media.

The project came together as a result of the great work done on Semper Ride which saw a 40% reduction in Marine motorcycle fatalities during its first year. This time however, they have been asked to engage all branches of the military including Army, Navy, Airforce, Marines and Coast Guard. The size and complexity of the US military makes this an amazing opportunity to have a significant impact using the highly talented One Eyed Bird team. They're proud to be working jointly with an amazing core group of partners at Strategic Action Solutions (SAS) and Cape Fox in this capacity.

The campaign is part of the FY2009 Development, Demonstration, Evaluation and Implementation of Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) Mishap Reduction Initiatives to Promote Sustainability and Enhance Mission Readiness across the Department Of Defense. The Secretary of Defense established the Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) to provide oversight on Department of Defense (DoD)-wide efforts to reduce preventable mishaps. Preventable mishaps reduce DoD operational readiness and cost approximately $3 to $7 billion dollars annually.
